St Helens & Districts CAMRA is bringing back its Festival of Pubs this August, with a month-long programme of events across pubs in St Helens and the wider district.

Following its debut last year, the festival returns with an expanded programme of events across St Helens and the wider district.

Events will take place across St Helens and the wider district, including Billinge, Earlestown, Haydock, Newton-le-Willows and other participating areas.

The sense of community is at the heart of it all, with pubs hosting a mix of jam nights, live music, quizzes, cider tasting, and interactive challenges throughout August.

A new murder mystery trail will take festival-goers through participating real ale venues in Earlestown, Haydock and Newton-le-Willows, with maps and clue sheets available from St Helens CAMRA.

The much-loved Pub Treasure Hunt returns for its fifth year on Sunday 30 August, meeting at The Royal Alfred at 12pm for a clue-cracking pub crawl.

The festival will also feature live music, pub quizzes, cider tasting, Meet the Brewer sessions and charity events throughout August.

The festival will also support Willowbrook Hospice, with charity raffles and collection points at participating pubs over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The festival’s main Bank Holiday programme runs from 26 to 31 August, with participating pubs hosting events across St Helens and the wider district.
